“ Peter Slavid has been following modern Jazz for over 40 years. In that time he has always looked for jazz that reflects a view forward to the modern and the new. His favourite artists include Ornette Coleman, Steve Coleman, Henry Threadgill, Cecil Taylor, Carla Bley and Lester Bowie.
Peter has always been a particular fan of the European styles of jazz and the interaction of jazz with other genres. In the UK – styles from Joe Harriott to Jazz Jamaica and from Django Bates to F-IRE Collective. In Europe - artists like Louis Sclavis, Instabile, Octurn, AKA Moon, Thôt and many others.
Peter’s show will focus on new music from the UK and Europe, and will include music from the fringes of jazz as well as some of the giants of European music.”
