Charismatic British singer/songwriter plays a selection of her favourite songs – Latin grooves, funk & jazz. Katriona’s eclectic influences, stemming from her extensive world travel, love of dance and experience as a performer & composer, make her show unmissable. Katriona’s passion for music embraces all genres and her hour also features interviews with top jazz artists & personalities, as well as rare grooves unlikely to be heard elsewhere.

Katriona Taylor, daughter of international tennis champion Roger Taylor, practised as a lawyer before turning to a career as a singer. Since training in 2003 at London’s prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama, she has become one of the most exciting new artists on the UK jazz scene.

As a child, growing up between South London and Portugal, Katriona was captivated by the sound of jazz and Brazilian grooves, singing along to Etta James, Dinah Washington, Jobim and Tania Maria. These influences helped shape her musical output, both as a performer and song writer.

Katriona has worked internationally, including supporting Grammy Award winning legend George Benson as part of his world tour. She regularly sings to sell-out crowds at top UK jazz venues such as Pizza Express Soho Jazz Club, London’s Pizza on the Park, The 606 Club and The Bulls Head Jazz Club. Katriona has also headlined at many music festivals such as The London Jazz Festival, The Henley Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has opened for funk supremos The James Taylor Quartet and worked with outstanding musicians such as US sax dynamo Jean Toussaint. In addition she has been invited to perform at exclusive events such as the Bentley Convertible launch at The Olivia Valere Club, Marbella, the debentures elite Gatsby Club at the International Wimbledon Tennis Championships and to perform in the presence of HRH Princess Alexandra at a celebrity fundraiser.

Katriona writes and performs her own material, a mixture of jazz, funk and Brazilian grooves, and elegantly re-interprets the jazz classics. She has released three albums to date - her latest “Precious Time”, released on DivaDoll Records, distributed worldwide by Cadiz Music, draws on her love of blues, funk, Brazilian rhythms and jazz.
