Pat West
Pat West started out playing Guitar at  8 years old and spent most of his school years absorbing all kinds of music and falling under the spell of all the Guitar heroes of the 60s and 70s. Growing up on a mix of  Blues Jazz and Soul Pat knew that was where he wanted to be even though everyone else was listening to grunge!
In the early 90s Pats group supported Ex Yard bird Jim Martyrs band all over the country and Europe and he learned his craft from his mentor Ray Majors the incredible Blues guitar player from London. This is where Pats love of drums also started!
Following a stint in bands playing various styles Pat met producer Al Stone from Jamiroquai fame and started to do  Guitar session work for him and other producers. Sessions included work for Roachford, Terry Hall from the Specials , BBC Panorama, Channel 4s Cutting Edge series and other pop artists such as Emma Bunton, Damage and Daniel Beddingfield.

Pat then went to Paris for a one off TV show with French rock artist Damien Saez and ended up staying with him for 3 years touring extensively and releasing Damiens top ten album "Debbie."
Many guitar sessions in France followed and then he came back to the UK to work with folk singer Kate Walsh, playing drums on her 2007 number one album "Tim's House." A UK tour to support the record followed with Pat playing guitar for the first half then switching to drums for various tunes.
The support act for this tour was the amazing singer Jon Allen who has had much success on the radio and has appeared on Jools Holland recently. These days when Jons guitarist cant make shows Pat steps in on guitar duties and hits the stage with good friends making a good noise!

Pat is crazy about Guitar and Drums and music in general. In this series "Give The Drummer Some" he will dedicate the show to Jazz Drummers past and present with a bit of history thrown in!
