The station’s “soft launch was on 1st August 2009 with the clear intention of becoming one of the leading jazz radio station web sites on the Internet. No, let us rephrase that. WE simply intend to be THE number one jazz radio station in the world! so we are launching a new and exciting website! As a highly popular destination for listeners, musicians and jazz enthusiasts from all over the world, UK Jazz Radio provides visitors with rich, original content, such as programming and membership information, interviews, event schedules, playlists, sound bytes, and of course, UK Jazz Radio’ s own live stream on the web! In this way, and by bringing you jazz, jazz and yet more jazz, the station is distinctively different from anything else previously available on the radio. UK Jazz Radio is firmly focused on new, emerging, artists in all jazz fields. Not only do we support and encourage new talent but will seek out showcase and performance opportunities to enable them to reach a whole new audience. This is shown with our collaboration with Marlborough International Jazz festival where we will have a stage over 3 days promoting young and talented jazz musicians. It will also host the final of our Young Jazz Performer Award. Our on-air goal is to make people feel good. The music, the presentation by presenters who really know about jazz, their promotions, their engagement in live performances and festivals and literally every other element broadcast over the airwaves will contribute to that "feel good" concept. UK Jazz Radio is for jazz people from jazz people,so please e-mail brian@ukjazzradio.com. or andrea@ukjazzradio.com if you have comments or suggestions about how the station can make a difference to the world of jazz.
